Eagles Milota Attending U18 Worlds with Czechia

April 25, 2024 - Cape Breton Eagles rookie goaltender Jakub Milota will play with team Czechia at the U18 World Hockey Championships this week in Finland. Due to contractual conditions within his QMJHL contract, the 18-year-old was obligated to compete for his home country, despite the Eagles current playoff run which enters game one of the third round tonight in Baie-Comeau, QC. QMJHL announces finalists for Ron-Lapointe Trophy

April 25, 2024 - Boucherville, QC - The QMJHL continues its virtual presentation of the Golden Pucks with the finalists for the Ron-Lapointe Trophy, awarded to the Head Coach of the Year. The finalists are: Gilles Bouchard, Sherbrooke Phoenix After five seasons in the AHL as assistant coach of the Syracuse Crunch, he led the young Sherbrooke Phoenix to fourth place in the Western Conference (and home-ice advantage in the first playoff round) with a record of 32-30-1-5 for 70 points. Islanders Lock-Up Top Goalie Prospect Donald Hickey

April 25, 2024 - On Thursday morning, General Manager Jim Hulton announced that the Islanders have officially signed highly touted goaltending prospect, Donald Hickey. "We are thrilled to officially have Donald joining the Islanders," said Hulton. "Donald has the makings and potential to be a good-quality starter in the league. Alexis Morin Wins Marcel-Robert Trophy

April 24, 2024 - Boucherville, QC - The QMJHL is proud to announce that Alexis Morin of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens has won the Marcel-Robert Trophy as the scholastic player of the year. Morin recently completed his CÉGEP diploma in science with an average of close to 95%. All this while having had to adapt to two CÉGEPs: Drummondville and Chicoutimi, as he moved from the Voltigeurs to the Saguenéens in January 2023.
