SeaWolves Sweep Away Thunder

The SeaWolves continued their winning ways as they completed a three-game series sweep of the Trenton Thunder with a 4-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at ARM & HAMMER Park. The SeaWolves have now won 13 of their past 16 games and the series sweep was the first for Erie in Trenton since 2014. The game was scoreless for the first five innings. Saints Sign Old Friend, John Straka, to Bolster Starting Rotation

ROSEMONT, IL - John Straka can appreciate having a contract purchased directly from the St. Paul Saints. For the past two seasons the Toronto Blue Jays saw his value when he was pitching for the Saints and purchased his contract. With Vinny Nittoli signing in Mexico the Saints had a void in their starting rotation and Straka, who went to Spring Training with the Saints, will fill that hole and start on Sunday against the Chicago Dogs at Impact Field. Davenport, IA - The Quad Cities River Bandits will have a chance to defend their 2017 Midwest League title. The team clinched the first half championship in the Western Division with a 2-1 win on Saturday night at Modern Woodmen Park.
